Stable Cottage, was converted in the 1980's from the original stables of Kersbrook Farm, which was a substantial enterprise within the local area. The farmhouse shows a date of 1882, however our neighbour who lives there says that part of the building goes back to the 1700's. We live in the converted Barn which lies between the two.
Stable Cottage was converted to be a home rather than a holiday cottage, it therefore has spacious and well thought out accommodation which boasts a triple aspect split level lounge/dining room, large kitchen and shower room and two bedrooms, one double and one twin.
We have tried to make it as comfortable as possible, the lounge has two sofa's (1 x 2 seater and 1 x 3 seater) plus a chair, and large leather footstool, there is a full sized LCD digital TV, with the recording capability of sky+, so there will be no need to miss your favourite programs whilst exploring the local area.
The kitchen is fitted with all the usual appliances together with other little extra's such as a slow cooker and sandwich toaster to name but a few, we have tried to supply all the utensils, dishes and baking trays for all your culinary requirements.
The shower room has recently been refurbished to incorporate a large walk in shower cubicle with a seat and a "state of the art" extraction system, all our regular guests have been delighted with it's "new look".
Both bedrooms have a wardrobe and chests of drawers and most importantly have comfortable beds.
The cottage is approached by its own private gated driveway with parking for several cars and is the last property in a small lane. The garden is private, south facing and dog secure. There is garden furniture and a rotary clothes drier.
We have a lot of birds visiting the garden with its bird table and feeder and in the spring and summer is alive with bird song.
We welcome dogs, and their owners tell us that they have a wonderful time here, with beautiful walks starting from the front door. The river walk is a particular favourite of ours, but if your dog likes the sea, there are parts of the beach which are open to dogs all year round.
We have included some photographs of the cottage none of which really do it justice, one of most regular comments is that it is like a Tardis!
